She is electric on stage and the vibes spread through any kind of crowd. Not only are her songs some of the best club hits that has been produced in Sweden, she also has a voice that could make a soul diva jealous and does better rap than most. Her name is Mapei. She comes from Norsborg a suburb outside Stockholm. The song Video vixens is the first song to hit you when you enter her Myspace and it is a mix of minimalist old-school beats with a demonic voice on top that smells of cough medicine. Myspace is by the way one of the few places where you will find Mapei in the world. Here she publishes her blog with clear-sighted reflections, political messages and sometimes straight truths: ”It feels like I broke everything down! Now I know everything! All Swedes ain’t blonde and Beyonces pussy smells as well!” Despite this (that she is so clandestine so to say), she is super hot at the moment. This year Mapei has appeared at big Clubs in the big cities of Sweden. She has toured with Up Hygh and the biggest in Swedish hip-hop Timbuktu. Everybody from Spank Rock to The Roots loves her. In April she went to Ethiopia for a gig and now it’s time for Gothenburg to be blessed with a visit of the biggest future hope in the Swedish music industry. Together with her producer DJ Carli and the dancer Miss Malin, Mapei will definitely create electric shocks this evening.
