Jiva Parthipan

Necessary Journeys - a performance about the privilege of travel

Jiva Parthipan is an artist whose work revolves around questions of power and established boundaries. Added to this given context, he uses different means of expression-dance, video, text and games. On Clandestino Talks, he will be presenting one of his works: Necessary Journeys - a performance about the privilege of travel. He will then tell us about the ideas behind some of his earlier work as FIST!, Al Qaeda State Ballet (Clandestino #2/2004), [man(DOG, MONKEY, GOD)], Waiting and PakiBoy.

His work has been presented at The Tate Modern, ICA - Institute of Contemporary Arts, Sadllers Wells, Royal Opera House and Green Room, Manchester.
