DJ WATTSRIOT [UK]
Dave Watts is not only co-curator for this edition of the Clandestino Festival. He is also known as Dj Wattsriot. It is not without reason that he has become somewhat of a guest of honour since he together with Aki Nawaz fronted the legerndary Fun^da^mental at the festival a few years ago.
In recent years Dave Watts has left London for Teneriffe from where he now runs new musical projects. A part from his eclectic djing he is also the head of the radio programme Ear Conditioning and The Che Guevara Convention. We owe this man for the wide span in this year’s line up. Listening to Dj Wattsriot is like drinking the Clandestino Festival as instant coffee. This is where things sums up, breaks down and are further drifted. But this is also where we discover what has been censored, voices, stories and beats that are reinterpreted over the mixer table in an uncompromised spirit that characterizes Fun^da^mental when they are at it’s best. In order to get our message across it has become necessary to ill some people . . .
